The Names, Personality, and Character of the enemy
The Eternal “Periodic Table” of Basic Elements of the Personality and Character of Satan, the enemy.
Satan, the devil, our enemy, and demons are real. They seek to influence us from the outside (and we command them to leave us, like Jesus did (Matthew 4:10)) or from the inside (in which case we need deliverance).
All the power of the enemy comes through us believing him when he lies about and against the truth, goodness, justice, and love of the heart of God. Remember, his characteristics below resemble the sinful nature of our flesh and our hearts. We need to repent 100% and live in that repentance into the goodness of the Father by the Spirit through the Son – submitting to the pure wholehearted goodness of God – being best friends with God and acting accordingly. We must resist the devil and his demons by the authority Jesus gave us – and be protected from them by our obedience to God.

- Real supernatural power – but it comes with a negative price, and is deceptive. This supernatural power looks good, loving, and right initially but is 100% demonic. There is power – but there is a price to pay for it (sickness, fear, tiredness, similar). It may look good, but it is not based on relying on the power of the Lord Jesus Christ – the One who died on the cross and paid for our sin. People who employ demonic supernatural power have not received the forgiveness of their sins through the blood of Jesus alone, and are often not connected to a healthy local church. They are involved in occultism and curses – anything supernatural that is not rooted and grounded in the Jesus Christ who died on the cross and spilled His blood. They profess “God is an impersonal energy” – as opposed to a Best Friend who ransomed us from the power of death only by the blood of Jesus (2 Corinthians 11:14, Matthew 24:24, 2 Thessalonians 2:9, Revelation 13:14).
- Depression / Negativity / Darkness / Heaviness (Opposite of: Psalm 36:9, 1 John 1:5-7)
- Doubt, mistrust, suspicion, hurt, and despair (Genesis 3:1, Matthew 4:6)
- No or very low self-worth (Opposite of: (Mark 12:28-31, Romans 2:7)
- Worship of anything or anyone other than the One True God, Jesus Christ, Father God, and Holy Spirit (Matthew 4:8-10, Revelation 13:15)
- Wearing a mask – having double standards. Being a hypocrite (James 1:8)
- Judgmental and gossip (Revelation 12:10-12)
- Machine like – Coldness – Coldhearted – hardhearted – unfair (Matthew 25:24)
- Empty Calories (Opposite of: fullness (John 1:14, 16), glory, joy, love, peace)
- Rejection / Abandonment / Orphan / Lonely / Loneliness / (Ezekiel 28:16-17)
- Chained to negativity / passivity (Mark 9:22-24)
- Joy of ridiculing the good, scorn, and ridicule when others fail (Luke 18:9-14)
- Sickness (Matthew 4:24, Mark 9:17-27)
- Limited power (Rev 20:10)
- Limited knowledge (1 Corinthians 2:8)
- Fills us with bitter regrets pushing us into despair, shame, condemnation, and hopelessness (Luke 16:23-24)

The list above is not exhaustive and complete – you can possibly find more. If you do please let me know.
Demons
Demons are real. They still tempt, inspire, and confuse people. Their tasks are described by what they do as listed above. They need to be cast out by mentioning the name of their task and function in the name of Jesus. It is so amazing to do because people are truly set free. 1/3 of the miracles of Jesus were deliverances. Demons come into people through sin – through breaking the laws of love and eternal truth. Through the practice of occultism etc.
The sinful nature
We also still have the flesh, the sinful nature within, the heart that is utterly deceitful (Mark 7:18-23, Romans 7:18). That must die – be crucified and disciplined – it cannot be cast out. But we can humble ourselves, we can be children, broken, sick, weak, poor – and then God can fill us. And we can beat the flesh by choosing with our mind to focus on the Spirit, obeying all the commands of Jesus – the Spirit that lives within us and changes us from the inside out.
Difference between temptation and sin
Temptation is to see the option – be presented with a choice btw. what is right, true, and loving – and what is not. To sin is to act on the temptation. Faith proven in action on temptation is sin. Faith proven in action on love is a righteous holy loving positive proactive choice – in spite of suffering.
