Our Faith
As contemporary evangelicals, we have a classical Christian theology. We affirm modern statements such as the Evangelical Alliance statement of faith and the Lausanne Covenant. As Christian believers, we also hold to the ecumenical creeds (the Apostles’, Nicene, Chalcedonian and Athanasian Creeds).
As Protestant Christians, we affirm that justification is by faith alone. We believe we are saved by grace through faith in the blood, death, suffering, and resurrection of Jesus Christ alone. We believe the Word of God is forever true, unchanging, and inspired by Holy Spirit, and we believe water baptism is by full immersion and is only for born-again believers.
We also believe this is how the Bible itself tells us to study it: Please read (Word) and listen to our teaching (YouTube): A Bible Study About Bible Study.
We also believe
(Please find Bible studies under “Articles” which undergird these theological positions)
- The most important practice in Christian life is to often (Luke 5:15-16) spend time one on one with the Father in non-religious friendly (like a friend talks to a friend Exodus 33:11, James 2:23) humble listening dialogue (Matt 6:5-15).
- All Christians today by the power of the Holy Spirit and in the name of Jesus can do all the miracles that Jesus and His followers did in Bible days. And Jesus still lovingly and with authority to do so commands us to do what He commanded His followers to do. All have the same fullness of Holy Spirit and the same authority in the name of Jesus.
- Apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers still exist today and are important for us all to be served, equipped, and led to be mature equipped for the work of ministry growing into the fullness of Christ.
- Women can hold all positions of leadership and ministry – including being apostles, prophets etc. and overseers of churches, ministries, and movements.
- All Christians, churches, ministries, and home fellowships need to always strive to be in healthy multiplication, as healthy families multiply – giving away freely what we freely have received being disciples who make disciples who make disciples and so on.
- All Christians and pre-Christians can and need to be helped into freedom and health of soul, spirit, and body through deep repentance to the goodness of God, agreeing with our identity to full adoption as sons and daughters of God, and in many cases also thorough inner healing, and healthy interrogation style generational curse breaking deliverance.
- All Christians – especially and starting with apostles and the other 5-fold are to adopt the normal Jesus-style practice to regularly, at least weekly, practice Matthew 10, Luke 10, Acts 13-16, and Luke 13:32. We all are to stop giving excuses for personally, and corporately not continually repenting, growing, and changing, moving into the fullness of all fullnesses of truth and practices in Christ – so we can all do all that He modelled, trained, and sent His followers to do in the same way that He trained them.
- Baptism and communion does not save or change anything – but we simply obey the command of Jesus – and in baptism, like with the laying on of hands during prayer, and the anointing with oil – God can do miracles in the act of baptism. Baptism should happen as soon as possible after salvation and communion should best be celebrated along with a meal in the homes of believers.
